La Rhonda Abbott was born on April 17, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, to Ollie and Wanda Thompson, and was raised in Antelope Valley, California. She passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 63 in Bend, Oregon.
La Rhonda was involved in multiple churches throughout her life. Her faith was one of the most important things to her up until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Wanda Thompson, and her brother, Eric Thompson.
La Rhonda was a wife, mother, grandmother, twin sister, and aunt who enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by her husband, Albert Abbott, and her daughters, Anna James, Angela Anderson, and Alanna Abbott, as well as five grandchildren. She is also survived by her former husband, Grady Walker, along with her twin sister, La Wanda Sturkey; her brother-in-law, Mark Sturkey; and her nephew. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Leslie Thompson, and her nieces and nephew, Kristina, Lisa, Victoria, and Aaron, along with many extended family members and people in her church community she met along the way.
La Rhonda is deeply missed and will be remembered for her electric personality. She was known for her authenticity, her sense of humor, and her free-spirited personality. Young at heart and strong-willed, she faced life with toughness and a unique energy that will always be remembered.
