I was acquainted with Rick in high school when he was one of the premier runners in the state of Illinois competing for Maine East HS. Little did I know that our paths would cross at Beloit College where he would continue to set records. Despite accolades he remained inspiringly humble. I was proud to call him an SAE brother. He was an incredibly kind and gentle soul. May he rest in eternal peace and may God grant grace to his family.
