Kyle's obituary
We sadly announce the passing of Kyle Weingardt, on September 10, 2023, at the age of 46 after a long battle with mental illness. He is survived by his wife Jen Rentz, his parents Georgette and Rolf Weingardt, his siblings Ken Weingardt, Kristen Weingardt (married to Jeff Ruhl), Keith Weingardt (married to Beth Weingardt), and niece, Abigail Weingardt.
Kyle was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, on October 1, 1976, to his parents Georgette and Rolf Weingardt. From his earliest days, Kyle displayed a boundless curiosity, coupled with a sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him. In his younger years, Kyle was a skilled soccer player, being selected to play on the travel team in Europe. His journey took him from Scarsdale, New York, to the picturesque landscapes of San Diego, California, and back to Yonkers, New York, where he touched the lives of countless individuals along the way.
Kyle had a profound love for music, especially songs that carried meaningful messages. He cherished the tranquility of the woods and the serenity of being near the ocean, though he rarely ventured into the water itself. His heart found solace by the ocean, where he spent hours walking along Sunset Cliffs, playing with his dogs, and watching sunsets.
Kyle was also a self-made computer wizard, earning numerous certifications and excelling in IT management throughout his career. His dedication to continuous learning and mastery in the field left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working with him.
Those who knew Kyle best would describe him as having a heart that knew no bounds. He was kind, generous, and empathetic. His intellect shone brightly, matched only by his willingness to go above and beyond to help those in need. Children and dogs alike gravitated toward him, recognizing the gentle and loving soul that he was.
His proudest accomplishments were being a devoted dog dad, marrying Jen, and relocating to San Diego. His academic achievements, including graduating from Edgemont High School, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from Syracuse University in 2003, and multiple computer certifications were sources of great pride.
In essence, Kyle was a beautiful soul with a big heart, despite his struggles. He would want to be remembered as a peacemaker and a champion of the underdog.
Rest in peace, dear Kyle. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
If you would like to express your sympathy, we know Kyle would have wanted to help others, we encourage donations to be given to your local animal shelter or to an environmental charity (such as ASPCA, Environmental Defense Fund and Greenpeace) in Kyle’s honor.
