Background
As we are still reflecting and commiserating over the news ourselves we wanted to share that our father, Kwabena Ansong, passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2022 after almost a decade of battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) compounded with early on-set Dementia. Throughout this time he may not have looked like the jovial guy you all met in the past yet we hope he will ALWAYS be remembered as the “Mr. Ansong” you all grew with and loved dearly.
As far back as we can recall, Kwabena never let anyone walk out of our home without helping them - whether it was with a meal, a place to sleep, job search assistance, a ride (no matter the distance), preparing taxes, or a listening ear as you shared a cold one in the sunroom - Kwabena gave what he could whenever he could without hesitation!
As the breadwinner of our family, Kwabena worked tirelessly to put himself (as first generation to come to the U.S.), his wife Hagar, and his children (us) through school as to him education was nothing short of achieving success. We were supported in our goals, no matter how many times it changed, altered, and/or derailed. Many, many derailments. Yet none that swayed Kwabena to be any less than giving towards us each and EVERY DAY.
The unexpected passing of Kwabena leaves his spouse Hagar in distress as she was his sole care provider during the time of his illness. This meant she was not able to maintain employment and in the same breath be available to support Kwabena’s medical needs 24/7.
In lieu of flowers, cards, or meals we are asking our family and friends, all who will be eternally gifted by Kwabena love and presence, to help please aid in supporting our family during this untimely and difficult time. This site is for all to see and share Kwabena’s memory and 100% of the donations received will be used to complete funeral arrangements and expenses. We are incredibly grateful for everyone's love and support and thank you for taking time to share your condolences and memories of Kwabena.
