Kut To Pang 彭柏輝 (1934 – 2025)
Kut To Pang, 90 Years Old, Lawrenceville, GA, passed on January 17, 2025
It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Kut To Pang. He passed away peacefully at night on January 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Kut To Pang was born in Taishan, Guangdong (Canton), China, in the 1930s to Julio Pang and Rui Bao Pan. In the 1950s, he moved to Hong Kong, where he established a successful career as a head mechanic and later thrived as an entrepreneur in the 1970s. With a deep desire to provide better opportunities for his children, he made a selfless decision to leave behind a successful business and a comfortable lifestyle and immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s. Determined to forge a new path, he transitioned from mechanics to the culinary arts. In the late 1970s, he began as an apprentice at Bamboo Garden Chinese Restaurant in Gainesville, Georgia where he trained and honed his skills to become a head chef. From July 1990 to December 1999, he proudly owned and operated Spring Garden Chinese Restaurant Inc. in Cornelia, Georgia, serving the community with dedication and passion for nearly a decade.
Kut To had a deep passion for reading newspapers and took great delight in watching volleyball and basketball games on TV. Among his many interests, photography held a special place in his heart. His love for capturing moments has left his family with countless treasured memories, especially from the 1960s and 1970s. He also enjoyed listening to Chinese music from the 1950s to the 1970s, finding joy and nostalgia in the familiar melodies of his youth. During his visits to China in the 1960s and 1970s, he embraced camaraderie, bringing friends together for spirited volleyball matches and exciting trips to nearby cities. Known for his warm and welcoming nature, Kut To genuinely enjoyed the company of others and had a remarkable ability to build meaningful connections with everyone he met.
Kut To was a devoted and loving husband who cherished 57 wonderful years of marriage with his amazing and beautiful wife, Lin Pang, and he looked forward to celebrating their 58th anniversary on January 24th on the Chinese calendar. Together, they found immense joy in traveling, preparing delicious meals, enjoying Dim Sum outings with family and friends, and spending precious time with their grandchildren.
As a dedicated father, grandfather, and uncle, Kut To devoted his life to nurturing and guiding his family with love and wisdom. He led by example, instilling in his children and grandchildren the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of contributing to society. He was passionate about equipping his loved ones with the skills they needed to succeed, believing in the principle of teaching them how to fish rather than catching fish for them. Through his guidance, he emphasized the importance of knowledge, perseverance, and self-reliance. Kut To’s unwavering love, strength, and wisdom left a lasting impact on those around him.
Kut To was preceded in death by his father Julio Pang in Panama and his mother Rui Bao Pan in China. He is survived by his loving wife Lin Pang and their four children and families: their son Roland Pang, his wife Wen Chen, and their two sons Zack Pang and Colin Pang; their first daughter Cindy Pang Cao, her husband Steve Cao, and their four children, Julie Cao, Jessica Cao, Justin Cao, and Jeremy Cao; their second daughter Amy Pang, her husband Shalabh Sharma, and their daughter Ellie Sharma; and their youngest daughter Dorothy Pang.
