Kurt's obituary
Kurt Michael Nagengast, age 36, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec 27, 2022.
Kurt was born in 1986 to Kenneth & Carol Nagengast in Somerville, NJ. He was a graduate of Hillsborough High School, where he played lacrosse and performed alongside his brother in the award-winning Raider Marching Band. The two brothers also were active members of Boy Scout Troop 1776 in Neshanic, NJ which took them on many adventures together. Kurt was a talented film and video student and spent his early career supporting live sports broadcasts in Orlando before earning his certification as a Licensed Insurance Agent. He most recently worked at Comegys Insurance Company in St. Petersburg, FL.
Kurt filled the room with light. He loved to dance and host game nights with his family and friends. Kurt also loved fishing, playing poker, kayaking, cooking, working out at the gym, watching movies, and listening to Pink Floyd. He will be remembered for his loving kind spirit, amazing sense of humor, quick wit, spot-on impersonations, and ability to find lightness in any situation. Kurt never failed to put a smile on your face and talked to you like he knew you forever. He brought much love and laughter to everyone he met, while never letting on he was struggling with his own health issues. Kurt remained playful throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his mother and father, Carol & Kenneth Nagengast, his brother, Chris Kenson and wife Kelly Kenson, his sister, Gabrielle Nagengast, and her fiancé Nicolo Serra, his devoted girlfriend, Melissa Messina, a loving extended family, and a host of long-time friends.
