Kurt Matsuda was born on November 19, 1965, in Santa Monica, California, to Ken and Lillian Matsuda. He was the middle child of five children: Greg, Debbie, Kurt, Anthony, and Andrew. His family later moved to San Jose, where he attended Piedmont Hills High School.
From a young age, Kurt was someone who cared deeply and worked hard. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Although life led him down a different path, his love for animals never faded, and he always had a loyal canine companion by his side.
Throughout his life, Kurt demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to providing for his family. He became a machinist by trade and eventually went on to own his own machine shops, MasterKraft Machining and Blade Manufacturing Inc. He took pride in his work and in building something of his own, always striving to provide stability and support for those he loved.
As a father, Kurt was a dedicated provider who never wanted his children to go without and never gave up on them. He instilled the importance of family, resilience, and perseverance, leading by example and leaving a lasting impact through both his actions and his presence. He leaves behind four children: Devin, Kayla, Alexander, and Jade, who carry forward the lessons and love he gave them.
Kurt had a vibrant personality and a memorable sense of humor. He brought laughter into everyday moments, often through playful gestures, funny faces, and lighthearted routines that will be fondly remembered. He had a love for good food, good company, and simple sayings that reflected his personality and outlook on life.
He enjoyed sharing his passions with those around him, especially his love for wrestling, which he passed on to his children and family. Some of the most cherished memories include time spent together at Bass Lake, trips to the snow, and supporting one another at cross country and wrestling meets. These moments reflected his love for togetherness and the importance he placed on family experiences.
Kurt also valued helping others and took pride in making life a little easier for the people around him. Above all, he valued his family. In his own way, he made it clear that what mattered most to him was the happiness and well-being of his children,often saying that whatever path they chose in life, he simply wanted them to be happy.
Kurt Matsuda is deeply missed by his family and friends, who will continue to honor his memory and carry his influence forward in their lives. His legacy is one of strength, dedication, humor, and love,a legacy that will live on through all who knew and loved him.
