Kristine's obituary
Kristine Kaye Elkins, 58, passed away peacefully at her home in Bakersfield on April 15, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Todd Wesley Elkins; their three children, Kaylen Rose, Emily Jane, and Alexander Thomas; her sister, Tracie Lynne Hague (Robinson); brother-in-law, Scott Hague; her mother, Judy Robinson; her nephew, Jason Scott Hague; and nieces Alison Suzanne Leonardo and Carrie Lynne Hague.
Kristine was preceded in death by her father, Jerrold Thomas Robinson of Bakersfield; her maternal grandparents, Viola and Donald Bies of South Dakota; and her paternal grandparents, Sybil and Marion Robinson of Arvin, California.
Kristine was born November 23, 1963, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Jerrold was attending college. Judy went into labor upon learning that President Kennedy had been assassinated. The family moved to Bakersfield about a year later. Jerrold became the Athletic Director of Foothill High School and Judy a Registered Nurse. Tracie became a schoolteacher in Merced. Kristine went to nursing school in Porterville where she met Todd and they married shortly after graduating, in 1994. Kaylen was born in 1994, Emily in 1996, and Alexander in 1997. Kristine was a dedicated, hard-working and compassionate nurse that would give backrubs to her patients. She loved her family, traveling, dining out, movies, music, her favorite TV programs, and her dogs. Per her wishes, her body was cremated and a celebration of her life will occur in November. Kristine was loved greatly, is missed terribly, and is now at peace. Forever and a day.
