Kristine's obituary

Kristine "Krissy" Hampton/Ortiz, 64, of Marysville, WA, peacefully passed away on April 01, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Kristine was born on January 19, 1961 to John Hampton and Barbara Johnson  in the city of Reseda, California. She was a sweet baby the youngest of 4.  Sister Victoria, brother Michael, and Sister Debra.

She was a free spirit. Even in her younger years. We shared a room for years, being the youngest sisters. My side of the room was neat and tidy, her side was a bit messy and chaotic.  Her toys were very loved. Loved to death, I always said.  She was a happy little kid. Loved going on family vacations.  We talked recently about a trip we took to Crater lake in the back of the old station wagon.

She cherished the trips to Disneyland and Bushgardens. We went many times.

Then when Magic Mountain opened in 1971 we were 30 minutes away. We were the first ones through the gates. We rode on the Gold Rusher about 37 times in one day. Till we were sick. Later when she was around 13, we got escorted out of the park for smoking pot on the Sky Tower, she was supposed to eat the roach but she left it on the bottom of the gondola car. Mom was so mad that she had just dropped us off and had to come back and get us an hour later.

Kristine did well in school, Napa street elementary and Northridge Jr. High she made lots of friends, and was very well liked.

Kristine graduated from Cleveland High School.

She was best friends with Cindy Culkin. Cindy lived down the street from our childhood home in Northridge, California. Cindy and Krissy were always together, even in their later teenage years. Listening to music, or going to the movies, or bowling. Of course the theme parks. We went and saw Led Zeppelin and attended the World Music festival and many other concerts.

She married in Las Vegas. Then gave birth to Richard (Richie) Ortiz Jr. Who sadly  passed in 2023.

Kris and Richie moved to Marysville, WA, where she lived in many different places throughout the years. The last 13 years she lived with the love of her life Dexter Wilcowski and his mother Viola.  She was happy there. They played cards out on the patio, listened to music, went to music festivals, went to the casino for her birthday.  She loved that so much.

Kristine was passionate about people she loved. She loved animals, and Red Roses.

She is survived by Sisters Victoria Diane Solla-Ipsen, and Debra Hampton, and grandsons Alexander Jay Ortiz-Sedy, Anthony Alan Clark, and Clark Cameron Ortiz.

Rest peacefully Krissy, We love you Sis. ❤️

WHEN I GO

When I go

don’t learn to live without me,

just learn to live with my love

in a different way.

And if you need to see me

close your eyes

or look in your shadow

when the sun shines

I’m there.

Sit with me in the quiet and you will know

that I did not leave.

There is no leaving

when a soul is blended with another.

When I go

don’t learn to live without me

just learn to look for me in the moments

I will be there.
