Kristin Gortowski was a prolific artist, adoring mother, loving wife, and a caring sister. She passed away peacefully at her home in Evergreen Park, Illinois on June 29th, 2021 at the age of 62.

Kristin was born on Christmas day in 1958 to Frances Kendrick and Jack Woltjen, the fifth of nine children. Kris held many different odd jobs to support her family but eventually went back to school to become an educator, something she was passionate about. She absolutely loved the students she worked with at the Southwest Cook County Cooperative for Special Education. She was also an ever-evolving artist who began drawing intricate designs on cards, then stones, and most recently was creating acrylic pour paintings that were stunningly beautiful.

Kristin is survived by her husband William Edward Gortowski, daughter Colette Yoyo Pezley and her husband Cole Leon Pezley of Chicago, her daughter Annie Saba Gortowski of Mount Greenwood, and her son Christopher Thomas Gortowski and his wife Jessica Symone Moore of Alsip. Kristin has one grandchild who was born a month before she passed, Johnny Levon Pezley.

Kristin was deeply loved and will be terribly missed by her family and friends.
