She spent her childhood in Naperville, Illinois and left for Michigan State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Art. Subsequently, Kristin moved to Port Huron, Michigan; taught elementary school art; mothered two children; and returned to school to become a registered nurse. Kristin was a natural-born caregiver – caring for her children, parents, grandchildren, nursing patients, and cats throughout the years. Devotion to her family, being supportive, and being an empathetic listener were priorities in her life. She was courageously independent, had a keen sense of humor, and a had wide group of interests. Reading, practicing art, international traveling, and gardening were her passions. Kristin valued learning, education, and remained a loyal Michigan State alumni. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and Master Gardeners.

Kristin is survived by her sons, Michael (Tammy and her children, Anya, Alex, and Nich) Cogley and Paul (Laura) Cogley; grandchildren, Katie and Tommy Cogley; brother, David (Margi) Kindig; sister, Betsy (John) Rogers; and many special nieces and nephews.

Kristin was preceded in death by her parents and special aunt, Betty Pearce.
