Kristie's obituary
Kristie Bryant Stoneking passed away peacefully, surrounded by her closest family and friends on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023. Born on November 2nd, 1964, Kristie was 58 years in age at the time of her death.
Kristie was preceded in death by her father, Walter Bryant. She is survived by her mother, Judith Bryant; sisters, Connie Hill (David) and Penny Irwin (James Ratliff); son, Katlin Douglas (Stacey) and grandchildren, Silas and Aurora. Kristie is also survived by her loving companion, Greg Morris, as well as her nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
One word that comes to mind when we think of Kristie is “music”. She loved music and let it guide her through life’s twists and turns, and for every day that passed she had a song to go with it. Kristie also loved journaling, so we can tell you that the song for February 10th, 2022 was “Roll with the Changes” by REO Speedwagon.
Kristie loved traveling, especially west to Arizona or south to a beach with her toes in the sand. She loved art and attending concerts, plays, and musicals with her friends and family. Kristie loved animals and cherished her many pets and grandpets. She was a lifelong Cubs fan, and getting to witness them win the World Series was a special night for her and her son, Katlin. More than anything, Kristie loved her grandchildren, Silas and Aurora. They brought her immense joy during their weekly dinners together. To quote a letter she wrote for them in her journal, “When I am with you two, and your daddy and mommy -that- that is my happy place.”
Kristie was loved and will be deeply missed by so many family members and friends. A celebration of life will be planned for a date in the near future.
