Kristen Anna Coughlin (Siudzinski), 49, passed away peacefully, on October 11, 2021 at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami, FL after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kristen was born in the Town of Tonawanda, NY on September 27, 1972; a daughter of the late Gail (Gardon) and Robert Siudzinski.
Kristen graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester. She received master’s degrees from American University, Johns Hopkins University and the Ecole d’Economie de Paris. She had a successful career with the Department of State as a respected Foreign Service Officer.
Kristen married the love of her life, Paul, on November 14, 2007. Kristen was an avid golfer, and her love of the sport brought Kristen and Paul together, when they met at the Jefferson District Golf Course. Kristen was well traveled, and shared her love of culture and travel with her husband, as they resided with their two Bedlington Terriers (Woody and Sunny) in the U.S., Europe and Africa. Adventures were often enjoyed with members of her family. Kristen enjoyed giving walking tours of the various cities that she lived in, including Washington, DC; Vienna, Austria; Paris, France; and Abijan, Cote d'Ivoire. Kristen was multilingual, and took great joy in helping locals and bright, underprivileged women succeed.
Kristen is survived by her beloved husband, Paul, father Bob, step-mother Anne Marie, brother Craig, step-daughters Ann and Brianna (Pat), niece Ingrid, nephew Wilson, and grandchildren Caleb, Sarah, Noah and Gabriel. She was preceded in death by her mother Gail.
Kristen’s last request was to have a celebration of life, of which she could attend, which was held in September 2021, where she celebrated with many cherished loved ones. Her wish to be cremated was honored. She was loved and will be deeply missed.
