Kristan D. Cihak, 57, of Chester, VA passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 13, 1967, in Sioux City, Iowa, Kris was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a dedicated teacher, inspiring students with her kindness, patience, and caring nature. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met, and her legacy will live on through the countless lives she impacted.

The beach was her favorite place to be. She could spend all day walking along the shore, searching for dolphins and gathering shells—usually with her favorite frozen latte in hand and her dogs, Hazel and Hattie, by her side. In the evenings, you could find her sitting on her balcony at Pirate’s Cove, taking in the view as the boats came in with the day’s catch.

Kris is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Patrick; her two cherished children, Molly Donhauser (Matt and stepson Landon) and Andrew Cihak; her devoted parents, William “Ted" and Elaine Snook; and her beloved sister, Karie Dollard. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her extended family and many dear friends.Kris’ family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace.  Her strength, grace, and love will remain in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kristan’s honor to the American Cancer Society and Backpacks of Love.
