Konrad's obituary
Konrad Rauscher Obituary
Konrad Manly Rauscher was born in DuPage County, Illinois on March 31, 1995, and passed away in Berlin, Germany on October 12, 2024. Konrad is survived by his father, Karl F. Rauscher, mother, Laura K. Rigdon, sisters Mercy H. Rauscher, Grace E. Rauscher, and Hope S. Rauscher, and brother Truman J. Rauscher; his grandfather, Joseph Rauscher, Sr., uncles Joseph Rauscher, Jr., Frank Rauscher, and Ernest “Tony” Rigdon III; and aunts JoAnn (Rauscher) Wise, MaryAnn Rauscher, and Anna Marie (Rigdon) Weeks. He is survived by 17 cousins.
The eldest of five children graduated cum laude from Georgetown University, majoring in Computer Science with minors in Economics and German. From a young age, Konrad emerged as an avid reader, and later he relished meaningful conversation, the more heart-to-heart, the better. One of his favorite hobbies was painting, and he enjoyed art and music of all genres. Konrad created a vast library of curated playlists on Spotify for others to listen to. He also had a deep appreciation for true fashion, not the kind you find at the mall. Konrad was a kind, gentle and compassionate person who cared about whoever he crossed paths with. As a teenage upright bassist, he was a part of the quartet “Plazion Strings”. Konrad also played his bass in the Lehigh University Orchestra and the Georgetown University Orchestra.
Konrad pursued a multi-layered career that included multiple ventures. He was the founder of Polyphonic Labs and co-founder of Weave.space, which enables groups to “leverage structured dialogic design.” His long-term research included a unified theory of human sensory inputs; social media platforms that optimized productive interactions; and alternative, technology-enabled economic systems.
As a child, Konrad had a simple faith in Jesus, and at age 13, he was baptized. In the final week of his life, some of his last discussions with his family were on the book of John. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
