Dear friends, family, and our compassionate community,
It is with heavy hearts and deep regret that we share the heartbreaking news of Kitric ‘Kit’ Todd Simmons' unexpected departure from our lives. A devoted father to his only daughter and a cherished brother, he touched our lives in profound ways, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth.
About Kit:
Kit was an unforgettable person that left a positive impression everywhere he went. Deeply compassionate, quirky, funny, and a master storyteller, he had a way of brightening up every room he was in. His genuine warmth, gentleness, and unabashed charm extended to all who knew him. Kit was simply, and truly, an incredibly talented guy in a multitude of ways and his sweet soul was loved by many.
Humble as he was, he was a rockstar with the guitar, and his strumming melodies will be sadly missed. His love for the natural world began early on, and as an avid rider he loved exploring the hard-to-reach areas of the landscape on his dirt bike. Impressively, he was still riding up until the end of his life at age 69. He was a poet. An artist. A woodworker. A comedian. He had a slew of passions including bike riding, skiing, and RC gliding. He was even an amateur race car driver, with record lap times on Laguna Seca in his BMW M3 and other vehicles. A master tinkerer, Kit could build, reassemble and fix all sorts of things-proclaiming himself the rightful nickname “Kitronic” and “KitGyver” amongst friends. These are just some of the small examples that make up the full breadth of who he was, and thread a tiny tapestry of memories that will live on in our hearts now that he is gone.
In the shadows of Kit's vibrant and joyous exterior, he faced a silent battle with severe depression, a struggle known to only a few. Despite the depths of his pain, Kit continued to share his warmth, compassion, and laughter with those around him. Ultimately, the weight of his internal turmoil became too much to bear, leading to his tragic decision to leave us. Let us remember Kit not only for the challenges he faced but also for the love and light he brought into our lives.

As we navigate the difficult journey of saying goodbye to Kit, we come together to celebrate the beautiful life he lived. Through the overwhelming emotions of this tragedy, we turn to our community with heavy hearts, seeking your support and understanding.
Kit’s daughter now faces the unimaginable pain of growing up without her father—a source of love, guidance, and unwavering support. His sister mourns the absence of a dear brother, and both are left to grapple with the immense void left by his untimely departure. Your generous contribution will not only help alleviate the immediate funeral expenses but will also enable us to craft a memorial service that truly honors the beautiful spirit of Kit.
Additionally, unforeseen financial obligations have emerged, adding to the challenges faced by Kit's daughter and sister. Your support will offer a lifeline during this difficult time, providing both emotional and financial relief.

-U-Haul rental to move his belongings
