Kirk's obituary

  • Kirk Robert Pierson arrived on earth at 1:53PM December 27th, 1946 at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He was the first son to John Robert Pierson and Therese Lucille Vincent. Baptized into the Roman Catholic Church at St. Luke in Detroit February 1947. Confirmed at St. Sebastian in Dearborn March 1961. Graduated from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn in 1965. Graduate with a 2 year degree in Traffic & Transportation, Marketing from Henry Ford College in 1967. He also attended job related courses at Princeton and Northwestern University. Worked in various positions at Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad from 1967-1977. Served the United States Navy Reserve in January 1969. He was stationed on the USS Henderson in Long Beach, California. December 1973, he was Honorably Discharged at the rank of E-3 earning both the National Defense Service and Vietnam Service medals.
  • At that point in his life, Kirk had been given a few titles - Son. Catholic. Brother. Student. Classmate, Employee, and Seaman. Throughout his journey in life, he continued to attain, by choice, additional ones that he was proud to hold: Christian. Co-worker. Bowler. Teacher. Advisor. Leader. VP of Marketing. Card Player. Handyman. Entertainer. Retiree. Senior. Santa. And the one that the majority of people he encountered in life knew him by, Friend.
  • On September 12th, 2025, at the age of 78, he left this earth as a patient at Select Specialty Hospital-Palm Beach in Lake Worth, Florida to his forever spiritual mansion. He is survived and remembered by the following monikers: Brother to Mark, Kim, Marie and Matt. Loving, faithful husband of 50 years to Barbara. Brother-in-Law to Pat, Houston, Diane, Michael, Rick, Penny, Ralph and Maria. Father to Bethanne, Brandon, Blake and Bradley. Father-in-law to Hamilton, Renee, Crystal and Liz. Grandfather to Samantha, Macy, Deven, Ivy and Beau.
