With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of King Beowulf, who departed this earthly realm on April 3, 1816, just a year following his birth in 1815. A significant figure of epic stature, King Beowulf embodied strength, ethics, and glory, and was always questing on noble pursuits.

King Beowulf was predeceased by his esteemed father, Father Edgetheow, and his beloved uncle, Uncle Hygelac. His passing is deeply mourned by his trustworthy friend, Wiglaf, and his devoted wife, Wealtheow. His ex-wife, Grendel’s Mother, and his offspring, Dragon, who predeceased him, also played significant roles in his life.

A devout attendee at the church where Beowulf and King Hrothgar's throne were said to be protected by God himself, King Beowulf’s faith was steadfast and unwavering. His devotion and fortitude were reflective of his strong character, and this was exemplified in his greatest achievements.

Among the most renowned of his exploits was his triumphant victory over Grendel, who had terrorized Heorot for twelve long winters. Following the death of Hrothgar, he ascended to the throne and led the Danes with divine guidance, magnanimity and wisdom. His leadership was guided by his unshakeable belief in the divine will and his commitment to his people.

The legacy of King Beowulf is one of unflinching bravery, fortified by divine assurance, and a deep-seated sense of dignity and honor. He demonstrated time and again that one can be both mighty and ethical, a true hero in every sense of the term.
