Kim's obituary
Kimberly Anne Smith
June 4, 1989 – April 6, 2025
Greeley, Colorado
Kimberly Anne Smith, 35, of Greeley, Colorado, left this world far too soon on April 6, 2025. Born on June 4, 1989, she was a radiant force of laughter, light, and wild spirit. To know her was to feel her—everywhere, all at once. Her presence filled rooms the way music fills silence—bold, beautiful, and impossible to ignore.
Kim was the kind of soul who made holidays feel magical, who never met a karaoke mic she didn’t love, and who could turn a random Tuesday into a reason to dance. Her laugh? It was contagious—no, debilitating—a full-body kind of joy that made others laugh even harder just trying to catch their breath.
She loved music deeply—creating it, living in it, losing herself to the rhythm of it all—even if she rarely shared her own. Her heart belonged to festivals and fireworks, family and forgiveness, and to the children she cherished more than anything else in this world: her sons Drake, Billy Porter, and Apollo—her proudest legacy, her truest light.
Kim leaves behind a fractured but fiercely devoted family, and a community better for having known her wild, gentle, stubborn grace. She taught us how to love louder, laugh deeper, and live as if time were something meant to be danced through, not managed.
(And yes, babe, I can hear you groaning—“Really? Live, Laugh, Love? Didn't we talk about this…and yes, we did.)
We will carry her in the music. In the holidays. In the laughter that stops us mid-breath and reminds us that she was here. Really here.
