Background
On March 18th, 2023 our beautiful mother quickly slipped away from us on earth. She has eternally been reunited with her parents, Stephen and Jeanne Brunson; son, John Dougherty; and loving partner, Kent "Spider" Morris. Kim was so full of life and loved every person she had the pleasure of knowing. As a child, she was sweet, but strong-willed! She loved her friends and family... but she had a very special spot in her heart for her daddy. Kim was extremely athletic and broke many state records in High School Track and Field. She couldn't wait to grow up so she could do what her heart most desired: become a mother. Kim's dream was granted as she gave birth to 2 sons, John (deceased), and Shawn, as well as 1 daughter, Emily. While she raised her children on her own- her home was always overflowing with love, lessons, and memories. The neighborhood children all called her "mom" too because they loved and respected her so much - she loved, respected, and accepted each and every child. While Kim was one of the best single moms, she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Kent "Spider" Morris in 1993. They spent many years traveling, attending concerts of their favorite bands, enjoying Spider's 57 rose bushes he maintained every year in his back yard, and simply loving life with one another. They had a love that everyone could feel. Spider passed away in 2007 and Kim missed him deeply every day. I know he was saving her place in heaven and met her with a bundle of roses and an incredible embrace. Kim had an endless number of friends and co-workers that she loved with all her heart. She was a long time volunteer for Job's Daughters and Demolay. These youth groups kept Kim on her toes... but she loved watching all her "kids" grow and become outstanding young men and women. She also met some great friends and made lasting memories with the other volunteers. Kim was a natural caregiver and had a special place in her heart for all her family and friends. After her mother passed away in 2004, Kim left her career and moved herself, Shawn and Emily into her childhood home to care for her aging father. She tenderly cared for him every day until he passed in 2007. Later in life, Kimberli became a grandma and realized that had always been her life purpose- to love, teach, and spoil her Addi and Evie. Addi and Evie absolutely adored their Grandma Kim. Going huckleberry picking, making "dancing ladies" from her garden flowers, cooking and baking, having tea parties and going to the Canton for chinese food were some of her favorite things to do with her grand babies.
As Kim's passing was unexpected and so sudden, the family is raising funds to help with her final expenses. All donations are very much appreciate and any additional funds will be donated in her name to helping other families with unexpected funeral expenses.
