Kim's obituary

Kim Lamont (Griffith), 61, of Schertz, TX, passed away on April 03, 2021 after a short, but hard- fought, battle with thymic carcinoma.

Kim was born on January 12th, 1960 to Doris M. Griffith (Kelly) & William J. Griffith in Patton, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Cambria Heights High School in 1978, she went on to serve in the United States Air Force.

After graduation, she traveled while in the military, being stationed in Okinawa, Japan (Kadena Air Force Base); Del Rio, Texas (Laughlin Air Force Base); and Victorville, California (George Air Force Base). During her time in the armed forces, she met Michael Lamont, and they wed in 1982; having 1 son together in September of 1983, Joshua M. Lamont, her first born child. Kim went on to have a daughter named Jennifer M. Lamont with father Michael J. Mielke in May of 1993, and a second daughter named Jasmine M. Smith with father Jerrod K. Smith in January of 1999. Kim excelled at propping up her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was loving her children - even when it was “regardless” - or maintaining strength and grace, never letting her struggles show in her attitude and outlook on life.

Kim was an avid reader, and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found happily curled up with a big mug of coffee, deep in a novel by James Patterson or Stephen King. We will miss her greatly.

Kim was preceded in death by both of her parents, Doris (d. 01/25/2010) and William Griffith (d. 05/10/1993); and youngest brother, Scott Griffith (d. 05/27/1992). She is survived by her 3 children, Joshua, Jennifer, and Jasmine; and her 6 grandchildren, Celeste and Elijah (Joshua), Joaquin, A’Niyah, and Jovani (Jennifer), and Paisley (Jasmine).
