Kevin's obituary

Kevin Lynn Toothman, 35, passed unexpectedly on July 11, 2024. Born April 27, 1989, Kevin was a 2007 graduate of Crestwood High School (Mantua, OH) and attended and graduated from Maplewood Career Center (Ravenna, OH).

Kevin was an Electrician by trade, and was an employee of Rapid Electric, Inc. Kevin graduated from ABC Northern Ohio in May of this year to further his career as an Electrician.

When not installing electrical work all around Northern Ohio, you could find Kevin being a loving husband, a devoted father, a caring son and brother, and the ultimate friend to so many. Kevin loved spending time with his family, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his “Village”. From camping, to riding four wheelers, building bonfires as big as life in his backyard, having water balloon fights, and watching fireworks, especially the displays he had a hand in setting as an Exhibitor Assistant with Pyrotecnico.

You could always catch Kevin supporting his two boys, whether it was at Karate matches witnessing belts be earned, at Soccer games celebrating victories, or teaching them to ride bikes, to fish, or to fix things around the house. Kevin was so proud of his boys and delighted in watching them grow into young men.

Kevin was someone you could always count on. If you needed help with anything and you were part of Kevin’s world, he was always there for you – no questions asked. He was kind, he was genuine, and he was profoundly generous. Kevin would give you the shirt off his back, his very last dollar, and the last minute of his day if it is what you needed from him – again, no questions asked. He volunteered his time and took pride in knowing he made a difference in the life of someone he cared about.

Kevin was a remarkable storyteller. He loved to share stories, experiences, talk about his children and his wife, and let you into his world. One of his favorite topics was his experience as an Electrician. He loved to show pictures on his phone of the work he did, and the higher the ceilings, the more complicated the job, the more pride he took in sharing his experience.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Debra (nee Brugge), his twin sons, Samuel James and Jeremy Lynn, Father William (Bill) Toothman (wife Victoria (Vicky) deceased), Brother Tim (wife Katie), Sister-in-Law Kathy Gedeon (husband Gary), Nephews Josh Toothman and Cody Gedeon, and Nieces Alexis Gedeon and Amy Toothman.

Preceded in death by his mother, Victoria, whom he has been reunited with in Heaven.

Kevin was a nephew, cousin, and friend to so many who will miss him tremendously.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 10, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Please bring a dish to share at the celebration and feel free to stay after for a fireworks display in Kevin’s honor.
