Kevin's obituary
Kevin McEachin, 57, of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully in his apartment with his daughter by his side. He was born in Sacramento and spent the last 15 years living in Oakland, where he found comfort and joy exploring the forests and trails of the Bay Area.
A lifelong lover of painting and music, Kev expressed himself through creativity and curiosity. He worked as a mechanic for many years before retiring about a decade ago to focus on his health and spend more time in nature — something that brought him deep peace. Though he faced ongoing heart issues, he continued to live life quietly and meaningfully, always finding beauty in the world around him.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Amala, with whom he was grateful to reconnect and share the last five years of his life; his brother Marco; sisters Alma and Jaqline; and his nephew Nick.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday at the Joaquin Miller Community Center in Oakland, where family and friends will gather to remember his kind spirit, love of nature, and the peaceful life he built among the redwoods.
