Kevin's obituary
Kevin Lee Hunter 63, embarked on his final off-road adventure from Goodyear, Arizona on February 18, 2024, after a lifetime of cruising the highways and byways of joy and hard work. Born on May 12, 1960 in Rigby, Idaho, Kev's journey began with the roar of an engine in Shelley, Idaho.
After revving through the halls of Shelley High School, Kev shifted gears into a career guiding timber through the forests at Hunter Timber, then saw him maneuvering forklifts like a maestro at R.T. French/Pillsbury. Kev lifted more than just cargo, he went on to managing warehouses with the finesse of a conductor at C.T.I. and shipping mattresses as if they were on cloud nine at Spring Air Mattress Co. Not one to put the brakes on ambition, he then cruised into entrepreneurship as the proud owner of KDK Construction, where he built his legacy one renovation at a time.
When not in the driver's seat of his business, Kev could be found tinkering under the hood of a car, or wheeling and dealing in his Hot Wheels empire. His collection of Hot Wheels wasn't just for show; it was a testament to his love for all things wheeled. Quads, motorcycles, and boats were not just hobbies; His collection was no small feat—it was wheelie impressive!
Kevin's pit crew in life, his cherished family, includes his wife, Jeanette; his navigators, son Kristopher, daughter Morgan and grandson Bentley; his co-drivers, parents Ralph and Christine Hunter; and his pit team, siblings Debbie Hunter Croft, Jeff (Jennifer), Troy (Jennifer), Dustin (Pamela), and Ryan (Kristi). Together, they fueled his passion for life and love.
A pit stop in Arizona to celebrate Kevin's joy ride of a life will be held on March 2nd, at 10 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 301 W Wigwam Blvd. Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. It's sure to be an uplifting service, but don't expect too much traction—Kevin wouldn't have wanted it that way.
In Idaho, services will be held at Nalder Funeral Home, stationed at 110 W Oak St. in Shelley, Idaho on Thursday, March 7th at 10 am. His checkered flag has waved, but his last race will be remembered for its laughter, love, and the occasional burnout. Rev your engines one last time for Kevin, a man who lived life in the fast lane.
So let's not say goodbye, but 'till we meet again at that great drag race in the sky. Kevin's memory will be cruising in the fast lane of our hearts forever.
