Kevin's obituary
We mournfully announce the passing of Kevin V. Griffin, 65, of Grand Rapids, MI. Kevin passed away on November 01, 2022, after a hard fought battle with a number of illnesses
Kevin, was born to Jack L. and Kathleen M. Griffin, on October 26, 1957 in Grand Rapids, MI. The family were lifelong residents of Kent County, Michigan. Kevin attended Rogers High School in Wyoming, MI and went on to study Computer Engineering at South Georgia Technical Institute.
Kevin’s biggest passion in life was music. An avid drummer/producer Kevin was a natural musician from age 14 and spent countless hours perfecting his ability. Kevin played in a number of notable local bands throughout the 1970’s and 80’s. A career spanning over 40 years, he had the opportunity to play residencies at such famous places as Sloppy Joes and Capt. Tony’s in Key West, Fl in the 1990’s. Upon return to Grand Rapids, he continued on the local band circuit with a number of local bands. When Kevin wasn’t behind the drum kit, he would never be found far from anything unrelated to music.
Kevin was welcomed home by his Parents, Jack L. and Kathleen Griffin, and Brother Jack L. Griffin Jr.
Kevin will be remembered fondly and with love by his long time partner in this life Linda Wheaton and family. His Sisters Janet Krug (Dan) of Grand Rapids, MI. Maureen J. Brown (Griffin) of Lenoir City, TN, Nephews William E. Bradshaw of Flint, MI, Douglas P. Brown of Lenoir City, TN, Nieces Angela K. Bradshaw (Greene) of Loudon, TN and Tiffany N. Brown of Lenoir City, TN as well many many friends and extended family.
