Kevin's obituary

Kevin Samuel Cross

January 2026 | Age 52

Mineral Wells, Texas

Kevin Samuel Cross, 52, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away in January 2026.

Kevin was, in his own words, “kind of a big deal.” And to anyone who knew him, that couldn’t have been more true. To know Kevin was to love him. He had a larger-than-life personality, a contagious smile, and a heart just as big as his mouth.

Kevin is survived by his son, Kaleb Cross and wife Victoria Cross, his daughter, Madison Cross, and his beloved grandchildren: Maximus, Charleigh, Kinder, and Elysium — who were the absolute light of his life. He is also reunited in heaven with his precious grandson, Anakin, who he loved deeply. Kevin also leaves behind countless close friends he called family, all of whom were deeply loved and cherished.

Kevin wore many hats throughout his life. He was a professional beer drinker, an avid fisherman, and one hell of a cook. He proudly served as a fireman, business owner, mechanic, Sheriff’s Posse member, American Legion member, and Little League coach. He was also a die-hard, obsessed Dallas Cowboys fan, never missing a game and always convinced that this was their year. Above all else, he was a devoted dad, an incredible friend, and someone who made everyone feel like family.

Kevin had a great life — maybe even nine lives. He gave endlessly to his community and would truly give you the shirt off his back. He had a friendly face, a quick wit, and was as good-looking as the day is long. His presence lit up every room, and his stories will be told for generations.

Though his time on earth was far too short, he lived more life than most ever will. His impact, laughter, and love will continue to live on through everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 31, 2026, at the Mineral Wells Sheriff’s Posse. A potluck lunch will follow, and family kindly asks that everyone bring a side dish as they gather to celebrate Kevin’s life, share stories, and raise a beer in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests plants for a remembrance garden, so Kevin’s legacy can continue to grow and be enjoyed for years to come.
