He loved life so fully! He was always on the go and dreaming of new adventures or challenges.  Kev had a hard time focusing on just one study or project in school and in life-- but as he grew and matured, he used that energy to take on challenges some would not be brave enough to even dream of.  For some people Kev's  energy could be irritating --impulsive to make "it' happen or come alive--it was his gift to not be afraid to "attempt" that thing that resonated in him like a string on a guitar that just kept on "humming" -if he could catch that certain vibration he could be  makin' his own kind of music to harmonize. He wanted to harmonize with whatever he encountered. He did nt complain, he was close with his thoughts not because he was without great compassion and understanding --his very birth was long and difficult and he was separated from his mother from birth in evening until the next day in afternoon. He probably had some abandonment issues and some other issues from delayed birth. Not many people knew that he stuttered when younger , did not have fine motor coordination and was tested at Western O College as he was a rascal in teacher's classroom . No one knows this but at the time of "hyper active kids" teachers and Drs. wanted to figure out how to address this issue and what to do with the ADD kids who usually were also bored in the classroom. Often small "stuff" seemed silly to those kids who --"got it " right away and wanted to move on to the next discovery and were "antsiy" to get on to the next info or practice that challenged them to then focus for a time at least. One on one teaching was what he excelled with in learning. Kev was tested at Western Oregon U and found to have a high I Q for his age--duhh. He wanted to try whatever came his way with little or no fear.  Impulsive but determined too. He found that singing helped stuttering . Somehow he worked on that more and more and by about high school he mostly over come that! He found he had poor fine motor co-ordination so he did not want to be asked to draw or write long papers at school and drawing of any kind as it embarrassed him to see his own stick figures and so his own signature was not very specific but if the encintive to use fine motor skills like loading a fishing reel and tying flies and spinners galore and weights he could do that like an artist and show me how to do that tiny finger maneuvers! Because he loved the art of fishing , nature and water, trying to play a guitar was a dream but that took too long to master as to his impulsive "wanna learn it now" as if he didnt have time to waste on some many things he had in mind to do or try.  Most dont know he was an avid reader -tho he could read a book fast --IF he liked it he retained much of the body and facts he read. Kev got bored quick with a guitar or a Stephen King book but later on he would buy the lates book of Stephen King and then try listening endlessly to guitar playing from then on . By osmosis I think he could play his own air guitar head bobbing.  Hard core rock resonated with him. Over the years he memorized bands,  members , songs, best concerts, as much as he loved sports. He would invite me to watch games with him so he taught me a lot about football and basketball . Kev had a soft heart for abandoned or hurt animals and same for people. He didnt often cuss anyone out and didnt want to judge them or their opinions most often. He had his view and kept it to himself as he didnt want confrontations about points of view. He left the other to keep his and Kev kept his belief as his own and gave em a inch for their space.   He was at heart and soul deep inside a big hearted softy. I lived on Trail Avenue across the street from the Coon’s family when we were just kids. My family still farms that piece of land in Keizer. A forever reminder of catching frongs, salamanders, basically anything that moved with Kevin. We ran back and forth across the street. Never calling, just a knock on the door and we had a playmate. His smile will forever be ingrained on my heart. Kev, when we meet again we’ll enjoy our lunch we had to postpone. Rest easy my friend. Thank you for your friendship and many happy memories. I got to know Kevin at A.J.’s Hidaway when I lived in Keizer. We both liked playing the Jukebox and had similar taste in music. We ended up going to a Gov’t Mule Concert at the Roseland Theater in Portland together.

This venue is pretty much standing room only. It was great because Kevin was so big that when I went to get us beers I could always find our spot. LOL He was also able to block our way all the way to center stage. It was awesome!

I do miss him and am looking forward to seeing him again when I go to Heaven! 🙏
