Kevin Card (1977-2023) Kevin Card, a loving and cherished man passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 45 in a tragic car accident. He was a ray of sunshine to all who knew him, always putting others before himself with kindness and grace. Kevin had an infectious enthusiasm for life, family, sports, and his Christian faith, which carried him through his personal and professional life.
Kevin was born on July 2, 1977, in Orrington, Maine. Kevin was born to Richard and Carol Card. Kevin graduated from Brewer High School in 1995 as a three-sport varsity athlete. He went on to pursue his education at Bryant College and the University of Maine.
Kevin resided in Chula Vista, California with his wife Simran, along with their children Shawna and her fiancé Ronnie, Megan, Eli and Harper. Kevin was an amazing father. Kevin's bond with Harper was extraordinary, as they were truly inseperable. Kevin was also extremely close with his son, Eli, and their relationship was full of humor, guidance, and laughter.
Above all, Kevin was a devoted husband to his wife, Simran Card, who survives him. Their love story was one filled with joy, laughter, and unconditional support for each other. The couple shared many happy memories that will be treasured by all who knew them. Kevin's unyielding love was best embodied by his relationship with his wife and best friend, who now carries on his legacy of love and devotion. The couple was inseparable and epitomized the true meaning of partnership. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and the shared experience of growing alongside each other, and their families.
Kevin's radiant personality was most evident when he was cheering for his favorite team's (Boston Sports) with his son, and taught him about football, basketball and baseball with his extensive knowledge of sports. Kevin also enjoyed music, and enjoyed discussing current events. He was a brilliant man that remembered all the little details.
Kevin was a wonderful uncle and loved his nieces and nephews dearly. He had a very active presence in their lives and loved them unconditionally.
Equally dedicated to his faith, Kevin was an active member of his local church, often taking on volunteer work. He was instrumental in engaging with young children, shining a light on the importance of community and togetherness in the name of Christianity.
He is also survived by his mother Carol and her partner Bill, sister Kristen and husband Chris and their children Jordan, Kason and Nolan, brothers Dicky and wife Denise and their children Nicolas and Sadie, Ricky and his wife Bethany and their children RJ and Aaron, Mother-in-law Paramjit, sister-in-law Vinit and her husband Michael, their children Neha and Naaz, Manik Uppal, brother-in-law, and Allison Davies and their children Arman, Anaya and Aliyah.
Kevin had a profound love for his aunts and uncles. He loved his dad's sisters dearly and shared so many stories of love and laughter of cousins and other assorted family.
He was predeceased by his father Richard, Father-in-law Virinderpal Uppal, Uncle Peter, Uncle Sam, Aunt Marie, sister Lisa, grandparents Clement & Rita Dumond, and Frank & Marion.
A prayer service will be held on April 23rd at Mountain Hawk Park, in Chula Vista, CA at 11:30am, followed by a celebration of Kevin's life. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the indelible mark he left on the world. As a testament to his character, Kevin leaves behind a beautiful family, friends, and community that will forever cherish his presence in their hearts until eternity.
