Kevin's obituary
Kevin Burnall Brown, husband, father, brother and friend to many, passed away in his home of Coburg, Oregon on March 27th, 2024, at the age of 72.
Born on December 12th, 1951 in Logan, Utah to his Mother, Larna (Hendricks) Brown and Father, Alfred Louis Brown Sr.
Kevin, the youngest of 9 children, resided with his family in Lewiston, Utah until 1958 where they would relocate to Coquille, Oregon and remained there throughout his youth where he eventually graduated from Coquille High School, class of 1970. After graduation, Kevin enlisted in the Army Reserve National Guard and was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey County, California.
Kevin is survived by his siblings, adoring sister LouAnne Sauve of Athol, Idaho, and loving sister-in-law, Pauline Brown, of Tremonton, Utah. Kevin was a father to five surviving children; his sons, Daniel and Jennifer Wright of Grants Pass, OR, and Daniels mother, Janell Lacy of Cave Junction, OR, Cory Brown of Eugene, OR, Nicholas and Kristi (Winn) Brown of Springfield, OR, Jeremy and Caitlin Brown of Springfield, OR, and Derek and Brandy Brown of Eugene, OR, and their mother Debra Brown of Springfield, OR. He is also survived by his wife Deberalynn (Windom) Brown and four step-children; Jennifer, Sherry, Makayla and Cloey as well as many dear to his heart cousins, nieces and nephews, nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; all of which will miss him and hold his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and siblings: Alfred Louis Jr., Willard Dale, Stanley Clair, Gary Hendricks, Larna Elaine, David Allen, Elizabeth and his fourth son Joshua Louis.
Professionally, Kevin was a true workaholic, beginning work as a mill hand, changing careers several times over the years with eventually opening and operating his own successful mobile heavy truck alignment business for over twenty years before finally semi-retiring as manager of a storage unit facility.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his youth, going to the movies, and was an avid Oregon Duck Football fan as well as a die-hard lifelong LA Rams Football fan. He was a great cook and loved to share a good meal with great people. He was a romantic musician at heart who loved to sing and perform when the opportunity arose and had the “gift of gab”, as he called it; never shying away at a chance to speak in public or to anyone that would listen. Kevin was known for his work ethic, his kindness, service to others, but most of all his sense of humor. His smile and laugh were contagious and he lived to share that joy with all that surrounded him. That humor is the memory that will live on in all of us that were blessed to have him our lives; his legacy through laughter.
Please join his family in honoring the memory of Kevin Brown at a service to be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 11:00A-1:00P at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 525 66th St. Springfield, Oregon with a luncheon to follow.
