Kerry's obituary
It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Kerry Patrick Mahoney, who left us on December 12th, 2025. Born on March 26, 1954, Kerry was a bright spot to everyone who had the honor of knowing him in his 71 years among us.
Growing up, Kerry was affectionately known as “Pudge,” a nickname bestowed upon him from his brother, Kevin, because he was chubby. He was an altar server at St. Pete’s parish, where the family lived in Philadelphia, before moving to St. Anne’s parish. Kerry loved to play street games, box ball, high-wire, street ball, and bottle caps. He later moved to St. Martin of Tours parish, and he became quite the ladies man - always had a girl on his arm! Kerry enjoyed his family’s traditions of the Easter egg hunt, Christmas nativity play, famous card games, and their intense hockey games in the kitchen. Once a month, the family would all meet at a neighborhood bar, where Kerry and his dad (PopPop) were known for their dance-offs - but Dad always won. Once a year all the boys in the family would go to Rosemont for their annual father-son camping and fishing trip, which all the boys totally enjoyed.
Over the years, Kerry worked several warehouse jobs, including over ten years at Edward Don & Company. He also was known to bartend at the Moose Lodge and work in the kitchen at Keenan’s in Wildwood.
Kerry’s favorite TV quotes from the show Blue Bloods demonstrate what was important to him in life: “Family is what makes us strong,” and “Family is our legacy.” Kerry, indeed, leaves behind a legacy of love. In addition to the many family members mentioned in the Survived By section of this website, he is survived by his grandchildren: Nate, Ella, Zoey, Jaxson, Dorina, and Lainey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
While we mourn the loss of a spirited individual, we also celebrate his life and the joy he brought to those around him. A wake celebrating Kerry’s life will take place on March 26, 2026, in Collingswood. You can find out details and RSVP here: https://evite.me/zYk5y4w5Fg.
To his family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Kerry, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the memories shared and the knowledge that Kerry's spirit lives on in the love he shared with all of us.
