Kent's obituary

Kent Quin left this earth on September 29, 2025. Born on June 30, 1951, to Glen and Dorothy (Rapp) Quin, Kent lived a wonderful life, leaving a void that cannot be filled. Remembered for his big heart, hard work, and zest for life, Kent was truly a jack of all trades. Not only was he cherished by his friends and family, but he was also well-liked and loved by all who had the fortune of crossing paths with him. Among those mourning his loss are his wife of 38 years, Nancy (Wrage) Quin, his children, Angie (Todd) Trettin, Greg (Mariah) Quin and Jean (Brian) Linville. Grandchildren, Alli,  Elizabeth, Amanda, Kayleigh, Kathryn, Lucy,  Abigail, Melanie, Barrett, and Macey, as well as his sisters, brothers in law and all of his nieces and nephews. He also will be missed by his beloved dog, Stella Rose. This close knit family is a testament to Kent's loving nature and the emphasis he placed on family ties. His love for those close to him was immeasurable, and he will be sorely missed.

Even though Kent was retired from the City of Waterloo Iowa since 2017, he just couldn't stop working. First at Terry's Grocery in Alabama where he truly treasured his coworkers, to most recently at Randy's Neighborhood Market in Osage Iowa where he had recently started when he and Nancy moved back to Iowa to be with family. Kent and Nancy enjoyed their time traveling and living in their camper. They made great friends where ever they went. Besides camping, Kent enjoyed fishing, puzzles, Legos and going to wineries with Nancy and of course his IH tractors! Kent also valued his 49 year membership with the Farmington Lodge No. 192, A.F & A.M

The legacy Kent leaves behind is one that stresses the significance of Faith, Family, Friends and Country. His belief in these values guided him throughout his life and will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was a beacon of hope and wisdom who made the world a brighter place.

A Celebration of Life for Kent Quin will be held on November 15, 2025,  from 11 am to 4 pm at the Lodge at Hickory Hills Park in LaPorte City Iowa. This gathering will serve as a platform to celebrate Kent's beautiful life and cherish the memories he left behind. His laughter, love, and lessons will continue to echo in our hearts forever.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory live on in our hearts. He will always be remembered, deeply missed, and forever cherished.
