Kent Hilgers, loving husband, father, brother and friend sadly passed away late Friday April 19th, 2024. He was 64 years old and is survived by his wife, Kelly, his brother Keven (Lorna), and his two children, Isabelle and Jordan, and seven nieces and nephews. Kent was battling a bacterial infection and acute pancreatitis since being admitted to the hospital on December 18th, 2023 before succumbing to complications at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. 

Kent Donald Hilgers was born in Black River Falls, Wisconsin to parents Everett L and Dorothy A Hilgers on February 4th, 1960. Kent and Kelly were married in 1984 and celebrated 39 beautiful years together. 

He worked for the Village of Lombard for 30 years in the public works division before retiring in 2013. In 2017, Kent and his wife moved to Paw Paw, IL where he became accustomed to country life. Kent will be missed by so many friends and acquaintances in the Paw Paw and Shabbona area. His last few years were spent fishing, riding his motorcycle and helping anyone and everyone he came across, especially those with lawnmowers needing repairs. 

The family does not wish to have services held. As an alternative to flowers a GoFundMe has been set up to help his wife and family in these difficult times. Any remaining funds will be donated in Kent’s name to the Nature Conservany of Illinois at nature.org.
