Kent's obituary

Kent Boykin, 67, of Houma, LA, passed away on July 04, 2022 after a  short battle with lung cancer 



Kent was born on 16th of March 1955[to George and Ann Boykin in Decatur, Alabama. After graduating from Austin High School in1972, he went on to study Engineering at the University of Alabama.


After graduation, he landed his first job as a Engineer for M&L Industries for 25 years. In 1977,met Rita Jones and wed in 1978, going on to have two  children, Tina N Boykin and Jennifer R Boykin.


Kent was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Tina. Jennifer and Rita  and always tried his best to support them.


Kent was also a passionate Hunter and could often be found  in the woods when he wasn’t at home.


Anyone who knew Kent knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Kent was predeceased by [his mother and father George and Ann and wife Rita.. He is survived by his childern  Tina N. Boykin, Jennifer R. Boykin ,sister Rachel Evens (Dan), Brother Lee (Dawn), Timothy (Katie),6 Grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren 13 nieces 9 Nephew . The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Jones Funeral Home. There will be a memorial/celebration of life at  10:00a.m on July 8 2022 ¢at Jones Funeral Home.
