Bode's obituary
Kent Mason Body, known by everyone as ‘Bode’, beloved husband and father, went home to the Lord on May 16, 2022, at the age of 63.
Bode was born on May 26, 1958, in Denver, CO. He grew up in southeast Denver where he graduated high school from Cherry Creek High in 1976. After high school, Bode began pursuing his passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. It was through this passion that he met many beloved friends, whom he cherished throughout his life. He also met the love of his life, Kathy, whom he faithfully loved and treasured all his days.
He spent several years working at LJ & R’s Transmissions, where he worked with John ‘Little John’ Peltz who invented the five-speed transmission. Bode had an entrepreneurial spirit and started many businesses throughout his life. Bode founded Marquis Limousine where he was a driver for high-class clientele to include the likes of Leslie Neilsen, Gloria Vanderbilt, and a former Miss America. He then started Photography by Body, where he specialized in weddings and portraits. He also had a career driving for Cherry Creek School District, where he was a bus driver for his son who would go with him to school. Bode was also an accomplished heavy truck driver.
When his two sons, Wes and Max, were born he left the workforce to become a full-time dad. He spent his time taking the boys to sports practices, games, and tournaments. He made deep, life-long friendships with the families of the boys’ teams. He was also passionate about loving his neighbors. He was known as the neighborhood dad and many of the neighbors would come over to his house for fellowship.
He is survived by his wonderful wife of 44 years, Kathy, their two children Wes and Max, and Wes’ wife Nicole and their daughter Aurora. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, his mother Gladys, as well as his grandparents, Lavern and Melvin, and Alex and Molly Nuss.
Bode loved and cared for his family deeply. He led his family with great kindness and encouragement. His friendships ran deep, and those friends became family. He was compassionate, and there was not another person who had a deeper common sense. He loved helping people and had a heart for those who were turned away, different, or alone. He loved browsing antique shops, camping, and spending time with his family. Bode was a master storyteller and also an incredible listener. His life was marked by memories of great vacations, heavy laughter, and quality time with the ones he loved.
Bode would tell everyone that the best thing that happened to him was coming to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 2013. He had a newfound hope in life and lived each day with great love, joy, peace, gentleness, and generosity. He truly was the hands and feet of Jesus to the very end.
A private gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 23rd. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Crossroads Community Church in Parker, CO on June 11th at 10:00 am. Bode’s cremated remains will be laid to rest in the majestic mountains of Colorado which he loved so much.
