Kenneth's obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Dale Wood, age 60, passed away on April 23rd, 2020. He was born January 7th 1960, in Seagoville, Texas to Leonard and Mary Ann Wood. He graduated from Crandall High School.

He worked as a truck driver for many years and had ambition to do more. Kenny went on to become a dock supervisor and later on, a dispatch supervisor for ABF Freight and worked there for almost 30 years. His coworkers knew him as someone that was well liked, dependable, and excelled at each position he had.

Kenny was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. If you knew him, you knew that he cherished the special bond he had with his son and 2 grandsons. You would never catch him changing a dirty diaper, but you better believe he would change a remote-control car battery in a heart beat for his boys.

There are 2 things that Kenny loved almost as much as his grandchildren which were the Texas Longhorns and Coca Cola. You could always find him fully dressed in Texas Longhorn gear, from the baseball hat to the burnt orange sneakers. His love for Coca Cola was so great that he once had a can dispensing machine in his garage.

He enjoyed the time he had to himself to work on things that needed fixing, which he was very skilled at. Kenny was your guy when you needed something repaired. It did not matter what the job was, Kenny could make it as good as new. Another hobby he had was woodworking. Some of his wood pieces are still hanging on the walls of ABF Freight.

Kenny is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Austen and Monica Wood; daughter, Alyssa Wood; step-daughter, Andrea Brogdon; brother and sister-in-law Tracy and Debra Wood; grandchildren, Maddux, Grady, Harlee, Madison, and Haven; former-wife Debra McGuire-Wood; and many loved cousins, nieces, friends, and coworkers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary Ann Wood; and brother, Lanny Ray Wood.

The family has decided to have a memorial service to honor Kenny at a later date due social distancing requirements related to COVID-19. Details of the service will be made known to all family and friends as soon as possible. If you would like to pass on your condolences to the family, you may do so at 727 Cedar Elm Trail Forney, Texas 75126.
