Kenneth's obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Rodgers, age 93, passed away peacefully Saturday February 6th, 2021 at Curry House in Cadillac Michigan. Kenny was a beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Grandfather and a WW II Veteran.

Kenny was born to John and Irene Rodgers on January 9th, 1928 in Granite City, Illinois. Kenny joined the US Army in 1944 where he was an Artillery Sergeant and stationed in Germany. After his military service, Kenny settled in Flint, Michigan where he met and married the love of his life, Leona (Kaiser) on December 29th 1951.

Kenny and Leona resided in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Kenny worked for Consumers Power of Flint as an industrial pipe fitter and retired after 35 years of service. Kenny was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer which he enjoyed doing with Leona, sons and grandchildren. Kenny and Leona retired and moved to Beulah, Michigan. Kenny enjoyed traveling, casino trips and watching and attending sporting events, specifically hockey and baseball.

Kenny is survived by his sons Randy (Arlene) Rodgers of Clio, Michigan; Michael (Cathy) Rodgers of Lake City, Michigan; Mark Rodgers of Fremont, Michigan; grandchildren Chad (Angie); Tony (Amy); Christopher; Stacey (Nate); Shannon; Jenna; Travis; Trevor and Amber and many great-grandchildren including his great-granddaughter, Allyson with whom he shared a special bond, spent so much time with and brought so much joy to Kenny.

Kenny is preceded in death by son John Christian, brother Archie, father John, sister Corabelle, mother Irene, wife Leona, son Larry and many dear friends.

Per Kenny’s wishes, no service will be held. Kenny and Leona will be interred together at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
