Kenneth's obituary
Kenneth Myers
December 20, 1953 - November 3, 2023 of Rancho Bernardo, California, United States.
Kenneth Myers, dedicated father, grandfather and beloved companion left us unexpectedly on November 3, 2023, in the comfort of his own home in Rancho Bernardo, California. Born on December 20, 1953, to Burt W. Myers and Mary T. May, Ken led a fulfilling life full of love, laughter and incredible achievements.
Graduating from Interlake High School in Bellevue, WA, Ken was a proud member of the Class of 1972. He further pursued his education at Seattle University and University of Redlands with his Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Ken was exceptionally intelligent and had a passion for learning.
As a US Marine, Ken's place of work was not limited to one location. He courageously served his country across the globe, consistently holding himself to the highest standards of the Corps—no matter the task at hand. His dedication and unwavering commitment to his role as a Colonel and Logistician brought honor to his name and left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
In addition to his remarkable military career, Ken was an active member of his community. He generously offered his time and expertise to various organizations, including the Escondido Community Foundation, Escondido Rotary Club, RYLA Counselor, Kiwanis Club of Escondido-Highland Valley, San Diego Children's Discovery Museum, San Diego Track Club, MCRD Museum Foundation, San Rafael Parish, and served as a sponsor for RCIA. He also dedicated his coaching prowess, mentoring aspiring athletes as a Track Coach for the Women's Track Club, Cal State University, and the Rancho Santa Fe School. Ken's commitment to helping others will always be remembered and appreciated.
Ken was a father to three sons Michael, Adam, and David, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to Ken's life. Ken's loving partner, Debra, stood by his side as his long-time companion and was a constant source of joy throughout their journey.
Ken cherished his role as a grandfather, though words cannot express the depth of his love for each of them. They were the lights of his life, and his legacy will live on through each and every one of them.
Ken is survived by his mother, Mary T. May, his sister, Karen A. Ajeto (Fred) , his sons Michael Myers (Meghan), Adam Myers (Kimberly), David Myers (Cherish) and his four grandchildren Austin, Autumn, Cara and Emma.
Kenneth Myers will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the opportunity to cross paths with this remarkable man. May his soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that he made a lasting impact on the world, leaving behind a wealth of cherished memories for us all.
