Kenneth's obituary

Kenneth Bertram McKinney was born August 24, 1937, in Detroit, MI to the late Clarence McKinney and Bessie Walton.

He attended Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI.   After high school, he joined the United States Army, and following his service in the army, he attended Wayne County Community College, where he met his wife.

Kenneth was employed with the Wayne County Youth Home, and then finished his career at the Joyfield Post Office in Detroit, where he retired.

He was joined in holy matrimony with Carolyn McKinney for 45 years.  Together, they raised 6 children.

His favorite sports were football, racquetball, and bike riding, which he enjoyed most of all.

Kenneth McKinney departed this life on September 21st, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Claire Wardlaw, Merna Blair, Clarence McKinney, Earl McKinney, Harold McKinney, Raymond McKinney, and Herman McKinney.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Carolyn McKinney, and his children Carlos McKinney, Steffie McKinney, Shani Castle, Edmond "Wayne" Castle Jr, Thema McKinney, Kito McKinney, Khalil Jackson, Katie Ware, and Ali Jackson.  Also, his siblings Carol McKinney-Robinson, Kiane Zawadi, as well as 10 Grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
