Kenneth's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth Joseph Jeffrey (Ken) who left us on January 30th, 2025, at the age of 80 at his Nursing Home in Oakville.

Ken was born in Goderich, Ontario on November 19, 1944, to Leonard and Cecilia Jeffrey. Ken grew up with a loving family by his side. His kindness and warmth touched every aspect of his life.

Ken shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with Christine Jeffrey, his devoted wife. Together they built a loving home and raised 2 daughters, Janine (Adam Jednorog) and Nicole (Tom James), who brought him so much pride. He cherished his family and adored his 2 grandsons, Carson and Spencer James.

Ken moved to Toronto after high school where he met his wife. They moved to Markham, were married and started their family there. They then moved to Stouffville, to his first country property that he just loved. They spent many many years there until finally moving to Puslinch after retirement.

Ken dedicated many years of service to Imperial Oil, where he applied his expertise and commitment to excellence, contributing significantly to his field. Beyond his professional life, he was passionate about horticulture and landscaping, hobbies that not only brought him personal joy but also beautified the community around him. Ken enjoyed being with his family and extended family, spending time outdoors, cutting the grass with his tractors, taking care of his many dogs and dancing.

Despite his long battle with Alzheimer disease, he radiated happiness and kindness and spent a lot of his days helping the staff at the nursing home and dancing. His kindness and loving nature were evident in the staff and residents who also shed a few tears for him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was always known for his friendly smile, his easy-going personality and having the biggest heart. He taught everyone what it meant to be a loving and devoted parent. He was loved by all.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Christine Jeffrey of 54 years, his daughters, Janine (Adam Jednorog) Jeffrey, Nicole (Tom) James and brother Bill (Pat) Jeffrey. Grandfather to Carson and Spencer James who will cherish and honor his memory.  Uncle to Jeffrey McLaughlin, Steve McLaughlin, Chris McLaughlin, Dale Jeffrey, Dean (Teresa) Jeffrey, Jason (Amy) Jeffrey, Jackie (Jamie Moore) Jeffrey, and Tracy (Mick) Affeldt. Predeceased by his parents Leonard Jeffrey and Cecilia (Ducharme), sister Sally (Claire) McLaughlin and brother Phil (Sue/Fran) Jeffrey.

The family would like to extend our thanks to the staff at Post Inn Village Nursing Home for their care of Ken in his last 7 years of life. They cared for him until his final breath and supported the family like their own. The family would also like to thank everyone who offered their love and support during this time.

Rest in peace Ken. His spirit and legacy of love will continue to live forever in his families’ hearts and in the many lives he touched.

A Celebration of life will be held in Spring 2025 with the date to be determined.
