So sorry to hear this news, Robin. But what a wonderful and vibrant account of your dad, which captures the teammate and friend and fellow writer that I’m very happy to have known. He was one of a kind—not only a unique person but an extraordinarily vital and multi-faceted one. He will always be one of the most unforgettable people I’ve known, and I’ll remember him with great fondness.

Robin and Frank, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. Dr. Jordan left an impression on me and I never forgot about him. His voice or his walk through the halls of the school. May his memories last forever in your hearts and through your stories.

The Owl has soared to Heaven -
Ken was a dad that all the kids from Balcones Woods looked up to, and he carried that same spirit as a counselor at Murchison Middle School. Every time I saw him in the hallway, he would ask how my mom, “The Bat,” was doing. He absolutely loved what she was doing for the neighborhood in a hilarious but caring way, which also perfectly reflected his personality.
I hold dearly in my heart the advice and courage he gave me when my parents divorced during my childhood. He taught me to love books as a way to find myself and discover new adventures, and we immensely enjoyed many personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut together in his office.
He also raised some beautiful, smart, and funny, caring, inclusive kids. Frank, Robin, and Cole, I am so, so sorry for your loss. Your father was one of the greatest father figures to ever exist and a damn good man. Please take comfort in knowing this and sending all my love like a Blue Wave.

Sending condolences to Robin and her family. We lived down the street at Galacia from them and my sis Brynn was good friends with Robin for a time so we were in and out of their house a lot. Mr. Jordan was always kind and I remember him always cheering for me in swimming for Balcones Woods Blue Wavewhen I was little as “Pooh bear”… he was a sweet supporter of all (especially his kids). Lifting prayers.
