Ken definitely was a mentor, best friend and someone you could depend on during tough situations. Ken and I spoke nearly every other day once he retired. He loved talking about those Dallas Cowboys and telling me those stories. What great stories he had to share. Ken would say “Gil” I know I told you this story before and I would say yes Ken about 10 times… then Ken would say, let me tell it again and it was just a funny as the 1st time. He loved telling me his telecom pole climbing, listening in on conversations, shutting folk’s service down and so forth. He was definitely Mr. Telecom… I already miss those stories and conversations.

He loved Sharon, his family and even loved Brian! He would tell me about the vacations and the gatherings. He was so proud of his granddaughters and a grandson that recently graduated college. He was so happy that he was able to attend the graduation. We would talk at times when he had the girls in his car going to Walmart, Taco Casa, Whataburger and they would just be laughing and going on. He would tell me “Gil” careful what you say I have the girls in the car. I would always joke around about being an Uber driver. Ken would even attend and sponsor my son’s baseball events. He did it because he had a loving heart and would tell me to tell Seth (my son) uncle Ken took care of it.

We had great times, working for XO in the NAC and Service Delivery, sporting events, golfing, Dave and Busters. Our favorite beverage bar was on Greenville and Park Ln (7/11) park-n-lot, that time was called Modelo Time. Several of our XO peers experience Modelo time and Ken’s stories.

I miss this dude, last picture he sent me was him sitting at Church Christmas eve waiting for service to start. It was cool because I was sitting at my Church waiting for our service to start. You know, we would ask one another if we are right with the Lord and the last conversation with Ken that Monday evening we talked about a shooting in Garland at a convenience store. I told Ken, that’s why you have to be right with the Lord you never know. And he said thank God I am good with the Lord. So I know for a fact Ken is in Heaven. I miss my buddy K’MO…

Loved Ken and Sharon so much ! Basically lived with them when they were in Oklahoma when Lauren and Dawn were younger. So many fun times and memories I will always cherish ❤️ Honestly the best friends I ever had

Love you girls !❤️❤️❤️❤️

I also worked with Ken back in the XO days. He was always quick with a smile and more than willing to help those around him. He was a delight to have as a coworker and made the work environment more fun. But there is a different way that I choose to remember Ken today. Some of you remember our times going out to Altoga  for some Beer BBQ & Bullets!! Ken was always an avid participant in these activities.  He knew how to get along well in every environment with those around him! But I will always remember two things he said. On the day we came to  the spring shoot out in 2014 “Papaw” pulled out a .22 caliber Derringer and said…. “Who wants to shoot some SKEET??”. There were hearty laughs all around. The second, thing was later that day when he broke out an old-school stagecoach gun (A short barreled 12 gauge side-by-side) loaded two 3 inch MAGNUM’s and handed it to me. He proceeded to say “Wanna prove you gotta pair?? I dare you to pull both barrels at once!” Of course I fell for it! I quickly lean into it and pull both triggers at the same time. It kicked so hard that the front trigger cut my middle finger. And to say the least, my shoulder hasn’t been the same since!!! It was always a great time and he will most definitely be missed. I pray God‘s grace and blessings on you his family and hope he will help you heal in this time of grief and mourning.

Sincerely

Greg Fratt

Ken was a colleague to both me and my son at XO/Verizon.  Actually, to my son he was very much a mentor.   He'll be remembered as somebody who challeged corporate policies but was also quick to smile or tell a joke.  He cared deeply about those close to him, and that love he shared was an extension of the love for his family.  Rest in Peace Ken.  My life is richer by having known you.
My condolence to the entire Moore family. I worked with Ken back in the XO NAC days.  He was a great guy and a great co-worker. I learned a lot from him and I would like to say that he learned a lot from me. We lost a very special person and with our loss is heaven's gain.

I worked with Ken (Sears) Moore at GTE in Dripping Springs along with a few other good men who were real "phone men." I'm so sorry to hear of his passing but trust I will see him again. We were pulling a strand, to place phone cable on, through a whole bunch of cedars and Ken was running and screaming after getting stung by what I thought was a red wasp and I called him a wimp. Only seconds later I got stung in several places and these were not red wasps, but found we'd run over a nest of ground hornets who began chasing all four or five of us in every direction we ran. We finally got away from them and decided to leave them alone for the day. Swelling was setting in where Ken and I were stung in multiple places on our bodies and we wanted revenge. We came back the next day to finish the job, armed with a dozen cans of wasp spray, and cautiously found the enormous nest beneath a decaying log. With cans of the powerful spray in both hands we blasted the nest from every angle until our supply of the killer spray was emptied. There are many other stories we shared over the years. Ken and I lost touch with each other but I've never forgotten him and cherish the memories we made together. Sympathy and prayers go out to his girls and all of his family. Wayland
