Kenneth's obituary

Kenneth Dale Smith, died October 16, 2019 peacefully from congestive heart failure at the age of 74 in Houston, Texas.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Janie Smith; his children, Ronnie Wimberly, Kimberley Visic, and Chris Smith; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Bill Smith, Barbara Godfrey, and Jamey Herd; any many cousins.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mae Smith; his son, James Wimberly; grand-daughter Karissa Wimberly; siblings Bob Smith, and sister Beth.

Kenneth was born on September 6th, 1945 in Hot Springs, New Mexico to Henry and Mae Smith.

Kenneth had a passion for music. He played bass guitar in a band called The Shades back in the 60’s. He also played basketball for Texas Tech. Eventually, he graduated from University of Houston with a degree in Optometry with a minor in Physics.

Kenneth started his own company, International Pipe and Steel, as an owner of oil and gas operations.

He married Janie Zabala in 1976. Kenneth loved his wife and family. He especially loved children. He also loved animals. He had a huge heart and welcomed many people into his home as family.

Ken Smith did love God, and did profess Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and has been reunited in heaven with his loved ones and our lord God almighty .

We will alway remember Kenneth for his irresistible smile and he will be missed by many .
