Kelvin Howard Messner, 53, of Terre Hill, peacefully transitioned to his Heavenly home on Saturday, May 23, at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Ephrata, he was a son of Helen (Burkholder) Messner of East Earl and the late Howard Messner. He would have celebrated 14 years of marriage to Melissa (Martin) Messner on July 8th. Kelvin worked at M.H. Eby, Inc. for 35 years, most recently as Safety Coordinator. He was a member of Petra Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years prior to his diagnosis of cancer. Kelvin loved the Lord. His faith in Jesus, God’s Word, plus great support from family and friends kept him positive and strong throughout his whole cancer journey. His desire was to live for the Lord and teach his children to do the same. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic vehicles and especially spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are 5 children, Casey, married to Nick Neely of Mt. Wolf; Tony, married to Ashley (Wingenroth) Messner of Mohnton; Devon Weber of Lancaster, Matthew Messner and Joseph Messner both at home; a granddaughter, Isabella Neely; and 6 siblings, Kenneth Messner of New Holland; Evelyn Messner of East Earl; Donald, married to Rhonda (Deshong) Messner of New Holland; Melvin, married to Geraldine (Weaver) Messner of East Earl; Kevin Messner of Denver; and Darrell, married to Julia (Zimmerman) Messner of Englewood, TN.
