Kevin's obituary
Kelvin Anthony May was born on July 31, 1960 to Sereda Jones-May and the late David Nettles in Mobile, Alabama. Kelvin also known as Kevin answered the call to take his final flight to glory on August 12, 2024 where he was surrounded by his loving mother and family.
Kevin was know for wearing many hats from being a handyman to being an artist. Whatever you needed he was the one you would call upon. He was reared and educated in the city of Passaic where he would eventually go off to service in the Army as a Sergeant from 1978 - 1986 being discharged with honor. From his early years Kevin was a clown, nagged his siblings and was always doing something. Although Kevin didn't have children he loved his nephews and nieces (2 of them he called his Pumpkins) as his own and would do anything to protect his family.
He accepted the Lord as his savior and was a member of The Mt Moriah Baptist Church in Passaic, NJ where he joined under the leadership of the late Rev. Boston Thomas and now Rev. Dr. William Baskerville Jr. Kevin sang in the mass and men's choir where he was the director. Kevin loved the Lord and made it known through many songs he wrote.
Kevin leaves his precious memories with his mother Sered Jones-May, siblings Tanya May-High, Valerie Porter (Tracho), David Nettles, Veronica Nettles and Vincent Nettles (Sissy). His companion Quasheema Demarest, a host of nephews and nieces, 6 loving aunts: Mary Stone (TX), Johnnie Mae Tate (AL), Rose Campbell-Dicker (Alfred), Alice May-Williamson, Chandra Adams, Carolyn Bunch (TX), 2 uncles: John May III (NC), Dawayne May (TX), cousins and close friends Raymond Hogan and Brian Bunch.
