Kelsey's obituary
Today we honor the life of my sister, Kelsey Jones — a woman who lived boldly, loved deeply, and made sure everyone around her knew exactly how much she loved Christ …and how she didn’t take any Bull from anyone!
Kelsey had a presence you couldn’t ignore. She loved being in front of the camera — modeling, dancing, recording videos, or taking a thousand pictures until she found the perfect one. And if you took the picture, she would let you know if the angle wasn’t right, the lighting was off, or if you didn’t hold the phone steady enough. That was Kelsey — committed to excellence, especially when she was the star of the shot.
She had a creative soul. She loved writing, expressing herself, and turning her thoughts into something beautiful and honest. Everything she wrote carried her fire, her heart, and her truth.
And let’s be real — Kelsey was definitely the boss of the family. She didn’t just give instructions; she issued orders. If she wanted something done, she made sure you heard about it loud, clear, and with no room for confusion. Telling people what to do wasn’t just a habit — it was her calling.
But the thing she did even better than bossing everyone around was defending the people she loved. After our parents passed away, it was just the two of us. We were everything each other had. And Kelsey took that role seriously. If someone tried to bully me or disrespect me, she turned into a one-woman army. She could verbally destroy anyone who tried to hurt me. Her love was fierce, protective, and real.
She loved America, she loved her faith, and she held both proudly. Her relationship with God guided her, gave her strength, and showed in the way she cared for others. And her love for her country was just another part of who she was — passionate, outspoken, and unapologetic.
And of course, she loved basketball — whether she was watching it, arguing about it, or pretending she could cross somebody up. She brought the same energy to basketball that she brought to everything else: intensity, humor, and heart.
Kelsey lived life with conviction. She loved fiercely, protected fiercely, and spoke fiercely. She could make you laugh, make you think, and yes — sometimes make you sit down and listen whether you wanted to or not. But that was her beauty. She was unforgettable.
Even though she’s no longer here with us physically, her spirit stays with us. Her boldness, her laughter, and her love remain. And I know she’s in God’s presence now — probably still giving orders, still telling people how to do things right, and absolutely letting the angels know if their halos are crooked.
Kelsey Jones, my sister — my protector, my last piece of home — we love you, we honor you, and we will never, ever forget you.
