It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kelly V. Williamson announces his passing on January 12, 2022, in Denton TX. A celebration of life and pot-luck luncheon will be held on his birthday, Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at First Church of Valle de Oro, 23401 FM 1061, Boys Ranch, with Brother Gene Goodwin officiating.
Kelly, age 71, a resident of Corinth, TX, passed with his loving wife Diane, and his son Travis by his side. He was born October 8, 1950, in Artesia, NM, to Jay and Betty Williamson. Kelly graduated from Caprock High School in 1968, and moved to Austin, TX where he met and married his favorite little Cajun woman, Diane. He was a hardworking man; working in drywall and construction for over 45 years. He spent his spare time doing what he loved best, fishing, playing with his dogs, or enjoying and talking about food, and telling stories. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend – Kelly will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was at his happiest in a pair of comfortable jeans, a cup of coffee in his hand, and telling a story. Please feel free to honor him by wearing your favorite jeans, having a cup of coffee with his family, and sharing your favorite story about him.
Kelly is survived by his mother Betty Groomer of Amarillo; his loving wife of 46 years, Diane; his son Travis and wife Melissa, and beloved grandson Clayton Vaughn, all of Corinth; 2 sisters, Donna Sutton and husband Bobby; and Karen Allison, all of Amarillo; 2 half-brothers: Larry Williamson and Bobby Williamson, of the Austin-area; 3 step-sisters all of the Austin-area; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his father Jay Williamson and step-daughter Renee Franks.
