Kelly Lynn Buchholz, 64, of Avon, SD, passed away on February 1st, 2026 in Minneapolis, MN after a long fight of congestive heart failure.

Kelly was born on September 26th, 1961 to Robert and Mary (Singer) Young in Saint Paul, MN. After Kelly graduated from South Saint Paul High School in 1980, she went on to study at Inver Hills Community College, where she met her group of lifelong friends.

Kelly worked an arrangement of job positions across fields but enjoyed food service the most.

In 1995, Kelly and Dale married in South Saint Paul, MN. Kelly and Dale went on to have 2 children, Katelynn & Courtney.

Over the course of Kelly’s life, she loved watching the Minnesota Gophers Hockey, spending time with her kids & grandkids, and taking family vacations in Custer, SD.

Kelly was predeceased by both her parents, Robert and Mary. She is survived by her husband Dale, daughters: Katelynn Buchholz & Courtney (Alex) Chamberlain-Collins, Grandchildren: Asher, Saylor, and Tucker, Sister: Kim (Charlie) Pietruszewski, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

A memorial gathering will be held on February 28th, 2026 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Avon, SD from 3-5pm and a celebration of life party following at the Pour Corner event room in Avon, SD from 5-9pm. Kelly requested casual wear at the gatherings with the special request of wearing her favorite color- blue, MN Gopher apparel or MN Vikings apparel.
