To hear of Kelly’s passing is a heartache in itself. Growing up, I remember Kelly standing outside the same time of day with her dogs Buster and Sierra - yelling all of her children’s names in order from oldest to youngest who currently lived with her (they knew and all neighborhood friends/kids knew that was the signal to get home because dinner was ready). Sleepovers/movie night’s at her house with my old friend (Harmony) making popcorn the old fashioned way and laughs in between from Kelly being silly or telling us stories and jokes amongst the 3 of us. Us making summer trips to “people’s park” (the real one) and before hand her making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and bringing all the snacks for us to have while we swam all day. Always with a smile on her face and a wave to come right after to acknowledge you if you seen her in yokes or walking down the street. I even remember one time I left my shirt there for whatever reason after staying one of many nights as I had previously and weeks later I seen her wearing it. I remember asking Harmony if that was my shirt as me and Harmony laughed and Harmony said “mom, that’s Kia’s shirt”. Kelly didn’t seem too surprised and said, “Oh, I just seen it sitting on the dryer and thought it was donated”. Afterwards, I seen her wearing that shirt often and we laughed about it every time because she clearly loved it more than I did and I loved that for her. Memories, fond memories of my childhood include Kelly :the goofy, red hair, charismatic, Dr.Pepper lovin, sweet tea maker, always open armed biggest hug giver, airway mom to all. I have so many memories instilled in my heart from the house at 902 king and many that have to do with her. She will be missed! Thank you Eckert family for sharing your amazing mom with everyone who got the chance to know her as we all know that her kids were her first joy in life.

July 24th 2021: When Angeila and I told my Mom we were pregnant with her Grandson Kellan. I am happy to know, that what makes her the most happy is that she knows she will go to Heaven.
