Kelly's obituary

In Loving Memory of Kelly (Dawson) Degnan

October 8, 1966 – April 10, 2025

Kelly Degnan, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2025, in Radcliff, Kentucky. She was 58.

Born in Bad Axe, Michigan and raised in Saginaw, MI., Kelly was the cherished daughter of the late David Dawson and Sherrie Hozeska. Kelly was known and loved for her gift of communication, her sense of humor, her artistic talents, and her impeccable eye for color and coordination. These gifts would continue to bless and inspire others throughout her life.

Kelly’s life was a radiant testimony to her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ. Her heart was rooted in serving, encouraging, and discipling others, always eager to share God’s love through both words and actions. In her work as a personal fitness trainer and caterer, she found countless opportunities to connect with others—not just professionally, but spiritually. She never met a stranger; her warmth, honesty, and joy opened hearts and formed enduring friendships. Kelly had an outspoken nature and a contagious sense of humor that brightened every room. Her words uplifted, her presence comforted, and her smile was unforgettable.

Kelly is survived by her devoted husband, Roger Degnan, and their beloved son, Noah Degnan; her stepmother, Judy Dawson; her sisters, Leslie Wright and Debbie (Jim) Voltz; step-sister Tammy (Pat) Fowler, step-brother Don (Kristin) Haynes; nephew, Randy Wright, niece, Kaylee Nicasio and step-nieces Madeline Haynes, Chloe (Silas) Kaul, Emma Haynes, Megan Fowler and Emily Fowler.  Each one carries forward the legacy of her love, laughter, and unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Dawson, and stepfather, Chuck Hozeska. Just days after Kelly’s passing, her mother, Sherrie Hozeska, was called home to be with the Lord, joining her daughter in eternity.

To know Kelly was to be seen, heard, and deeply loved. Her compassion, creativity, and joy touched countless lives and will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Kelly’s journey of faith was marked by faithful endurance—a quality the Bible speaks of often. In the face of life’s trials, she held fast to hope, character, and perseverance.

Kelly endured faithfully, loved deeply, and finished her race with joy. Her legacy is not only in the lives she touched but in the eternal hope she carried to the very end.
