Kelleen's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Kelleen Concannon-Barry on May 2, 2025, who was born on September 4, 1964. She was predeceased by her dearest mother, Ruth Concannon, her loving Father, Michael Concannon and Gary Francis her brother. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her sister, Karen Meyer (Ted), brother, Michael (Cindy). Concannon nephews, nieces, and everyone whose life she touched.
Kelleen's favorite foods were fruits and pasta, a heritage of her time was spent as a health food store owner. She enjoyed a chilled beer and relished the tunes of The Beatles. She was an ardent fan of television shows with Andy Griffith, Don Knotts and cherished re-runs of the Carol Burnett Show. Kelleen had an eye for modern art and was a passionate golf player. She loved watching Rod Stewart's performances and was known to have a healthy and active lifestyle, often seen going for long walks; a habit she developed during her years as an aerobics instructor in the '70s.
Kelleen had a fondness for the vibrant islands of Hawaii and enjoyed spending her free time at local spot Bobby McGees. As a staunch animal lover, she deeply cared for and supported the ASPCA. Her affection extended to all animals, especially cats and squirrels.
Defined by her dry, witty sense of humor and her love for the color green, Kelleen was a source of courage and resilience. She exemplified grace and dignity even in the face of loss and tragedy, a lesson she heartily passed on. Among her many attributes, Kelleen was a champion horsewoman. Her exemplary partnership with her horse, Gidget, won them over 43 Gymcana blue and red ribbons over the years.
In 1983, she debuted as a debutant for the Walnut Creek Diablo Cotillion, a momentous event that left an indelible mark. She graduated from San Ramon High School in Danville, Ca in 1982 where she excelled in Spanish and modern dance. This, along with her many accomplishments, is part of the rich legacy she leaves behind. A legacy that will be remembered, treasured, and cherished by all.
Kelleen Concannon-Barry will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and live on in our hearts.
